Hello Ya’ll,

Funny how one day comes along and everything snaps into place. I had the honor of being a guest on KPIG with Sleepy John on "Please Stand By" this past Sunday morning and was thrilled to have beautiful harmonies by Amber Guzman & Nicole Dillenberg, and of course, Ron and Greg. I regularly send KPIG artists they feature Sunday mornings so it was really awesome to have a stab at it myself. I have written over 100 originals songs and rarely get to play them mostly due to the lack of a great listening room. As a songwriter, you just don’t want a cappuccino machine running through your sets or the many interruptions that can happen in a restaurant/bar setting. That’s where house concerts come in. Any hosts out there wanting to do something fun this summer? Please contact me by hitting reply.

This month of August is aglow with great shows (see below) and this Friday at Chamisal, Robert Elmond Stone and our band will be backing him, along with Dr. Twang (Scott Dickson) for some country western fun from 6-8. If you haven’t been to one to this location yet, this will be a boot scootin’ Friday.

This spectacular Sunday Showcase at the great listening room The Lab is the famous Texas Music Hall of Famer, Freddie Steady Krc, at 4:30 in the Barnyard. This is a Evening of Song and Story called "TUCSON" - A Western Folk Rock Horse Opera in Verse narrated by John D. Garrison and Songs and Story written by Freddie Steady Krc. A very special story show. You can reserve seats or buy tickets on line below for a GREAT SUNDAY AFTERNOON OF RARE ENTERTAINMENT.

And since its a Country Western weekend, the Link of the Week is a great video shot on phone camera and cleverly edited featuring Robert Elmond Stone. Hope to se you at a show this weekend. Have a playful week and thanks again for your great support.

A local favorite and all round great entertainer - you are sure to enjoy him.

About: Tom Faia became known in Nashville and LA for his clever and infectious music. As a solo artist and songwriter with A&M Records, Tom wrote songs recorded by Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Barbara Mandrell and rock legend Dobie Gray. Today Tom is still writing classic feel good tunes, but this time he`s performing them, too! Now Tom is back home on the Monterey Peninsula and will be releasing his highly anticipated fourth album this summer. Tom`s currently playing solo acoustic shows throughout California as well as shows with his band, The Juice, which includes Dave Evert on guitar, Scott Rudoni on bass, and Bill Kucher on d . . . He’s a bluesy cat and I love him. One heck of a keyboard player too - pairs well with wine!

About: Tom Lawson, although known primarily as keyboardist/vocalist with Monterey area bands such as Blues at Eleven, strips the music down to the core of the blues experience with his solo piano and vocal performance. The music is selected from the birth of recorded blues in the 1920s onward, but it is more than just a history lesson. Each song tries to capture the emotion of the original performance and to involve the listener in the story that each song tells. Tom says,"It is one thing to play the notes but to communicate emotion demands more. I hope to do this every time I am in front of an audience."

Great Food & Music

This is a BLUEGRASS night with a wonderful local band, Hilltown. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen/heard them but they sure are a crowd-pleaser.

About: Named after the little town that grew out of the well traveled Salinas river fording site of the mid 1800s, the newly formed four-piece bluegrass band Hilltown is sure to get your toes a tapping. All of the band members live in the Monterey area; three on hills overlooking the bay and the other just across from the old Hilltown site in Salinas--hence the name. Three of the band members, also of the venerable Fog Valley Drifters based mainly in Modesto, were looking for a way to stay in practice locally and invited guitar flat picker par excellence and singer Norm Green to join in. As happens with a lot of bands, things clicked an . . . More »

One never knows where their name will crop up!

Greg is like - "who wrote that?" I’m like "I don’t think its about me."

My friend Ed said - it’s a song - youtube it. So I did - the lyrics lack content badly - but this song is probably mega popular. Help me to understand.     Song by Drake - Stupid Lyrics

Western Folk Rock Horse Opera Freddy Steady Krc Live At The Lab
FREDDIE STEADY KRC Presents... TUCSON - A Western Folk Rock Horse Opera in Verse and Song: It’s a tale of tragedy, heartbreak, desperation, love, and pursuit of the American dream, set in a time when that dream was everything. In the wild west of America in the middle 19th century, dreams were pursued, fulfilled, dashed, and altered. But always pursued. It’s how the country found its destiny gradually from the east coast to the west. From the mind of American musician Freddie Steady Krc comes the tale of Tucson, a love story set in the wild country of the developing west. The tale of a cowboy named Sonny and his undying love for K . . . More »     Read more about it here Buy your tickets or reserve seats here
