Hello Friends and Fellow Musicians,

Its been quite a busy 4th of July weekend which makes this week recovery week, right? We had back to back gigs and I miss the days when bands had roadies! I never seemed to have one so I named one of my dogs Roadie but he wasn’t much help.

This Saturday my band Fields of Eden will be at Trailside Beer Garden in Carmel Valley from 6-9 so come on by if you’re in the village.

I have a ’really big show’ featuring Jackie Bristow & Mark Punch all the way from New Zealand/Nashville next Thursday, July 19th at 7pm at Chamisal’s Courtside Bistro. These summer concerts are outrageously good and a lovely setting of the Castlerock Cliffs to boot. More info on that below as well as the July calendar and the ever entertaining Link of the Week is my band at Lovers Point shot by Robert Murray, oh and check out the view - so Enjoy! Have a playful week and thanks again for your great support.

This is a BLUEGRASS night with a wonderful local band, Hilltown. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen/heard them but they sure are a crowd-pleaser.

About: Named after the little town that grew out of the well traveled Salinas river fording site of the mid 1800s, the newly formed four-piece bluegrass band Hilltown is sure to get your toes a tapping. All of the band members live in the Monterey area; three on hills overlooking the bay and the other just across from the old Hilltown site in Salinas--hence the name. Three of the band members, also of the venerable Fog Valley Drifters based mainly in Modesto, were looking for a way to stay in practice locally and invited guitar flat picker par excellence and singer Norm Green to join in. As happens with a lot of bands, things clicked an . . . More »

Great Food & Music

Our band is more and more solid each week that we play. We invite music friends to come up and play with us, so if you’re a musician, come on by and sit in with us. It’s a hoot - and the food is delicious! Happy to have Ron Beckett with us on bass and Stewart Pilkenton on lead guitar.

About: Fields of Eden is an Acoustic Rock Band that plays the classic rock hits covering the last three decades. This fun loving group delivers timeless songs just the way you first heard them and cover artists like ELP, Todd Rundgren, Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Coldplay, The Verve Pipe, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles… a mixed bag of songs and something for everybody. Fields of Eden’s members are The Edenfields: Lead singer/guitarist, Kiki Wow, whose engaging vocals and rhythm guitar hit a delightful and familiar chord that has audiences tapping and singing along from the first song on. What a voice!

Wes Speight, an excellent multi-instrumentalist, is on tour in this area again. If you like Jim Morrison - you are gonna love Wes. He’s absolutely great you’re gonna dig him big time! Do yourself a favor and check it out.

About: “There are a great many blues-rock bands in Seattle these days, but the one led by songwriter Wes Speight is notable for its particularly gritty and gutty take on the genre.” - Seattle Weekly “The swagger... of a Jim Morrison, the chilly command of an Ian Curtis, the rough, masculine soul of a Greg Dulli. As a singer, Speight possesses a soulful voice, which he bends and distorts to fit whatever effect he`s going for.” - Rev. Adam McKinney, The New Frontier Lounge, Tacoma WA “His music gets better and better as the days go on and we’re excited for his new Rejection Letter EP. It’s reflective, stripped down, classic and bol . . . More »

Boscoe’s Brood returning to Bakai after his wonderful write up in the paper. He’s a multi-instrumentalist and plays all kinds of favorites, Beatles too!

About: BOSCOE’S BROOD (aka Sam Regalado) earned his musical stripes in the Los Angeles coffee house, bar and nightclub scene. Weaned on the music of The Beatles, his tastes and songwriting style eventually expanded and came to include progressive, alternative, harmonic and pop genres; those that today he blends into a creative acoustic sound. Many of his songs are often windows designed to observe the often-quirky lives and habits of everyday people. A veteran road warrior, Boscoe’s Brood has amassed considerable performance miles from San Diego through Seattle, having serenaded music lovers throughout the west with his with guitar, loop, . . . Two of My Favs!

CONCERT ON THE COURT featuring Jackie Bristow - and Mark Punch. I LOVE this duo and they have opened for The Steve Miller Band and Bonnie Raitt, Tommy Emmanuel - you’ll see why this lady and amazing guitarist travel the world singing originals!

About: After opening for Tommy Emmanuel`s USA tour earlier this year Jackie headed down to New Zealand for successful 16-date solo tour which celebrated the release of her 4thstudio album Shot of Gold. (USA release date TBC) Now back State Side Jackie Bristow and Mark Punch return to California for summer shows. At once heartfelt and sophisticated, her songs combine subtle but beautiful melodies and hooks that hypnotise the listener, demanding complete surrender then sticking around like the backbone of a real friend.
