Bruce Kunkel and Rob Harris return to Monterey with their great original songs, harmonies, and musicianship. Let me say harmonies again! Joined by long-time friend, singer-songwriter Janni Littlepage. Don’t miss this one! About: KUNKEL and HARRIS - Kunkel and Harris are San Francisco Bay Area based folk/rock/Americana guitarists, singers and storytellers. Both are songwriters, and accompany each other as they perform their original songs. They sing with very strong vocal harmonies and their acoustic sound is complemented with traditional and contemporary instrumentation and arrangements. They are self-described as “Eaglely, Everly, Beatley, Browne.” Bruce Kunkel and Rob Harris met in Sonoma California 40 years ago, where their unique integration of songwriting styles and complementary vocal harmonies were immediately apparent. Their time honored collaboration of songwriting and performing also includes individual professional careers and families. Bruce Kunkel was a founding member and recording artist with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Rob Harris’ group BlueGrass by Default performed throughout the San Francisco Bay area in the 1980’s and 1990’s. About: JANNI LITTLEPAGE Singer-songwriter and recording artist, Janni Littlepage, is a Monterey Peninsula native. Composing on piano and dulcimer in genres spanning folk to country to pop and back again, Janni’s resonant voice holds qualities reminiscent of Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, and Joni Mitchell. Working with many notable artists, musicians, producers and co-writers throughout her career, two of the most important and influential of these are BRUCE KUNKEL and ROB HARRIS, who nurtured her talent and encouraged her at age twenty-one, to pursue a career in music. Janni released her solo album, “Strange Angels” in Europe in 2011, and most recently, formed the acoustic trio, TRUE NORTH, along with Swedish singer-songwriters, Eva Hillered of Stockholm and Patrick Rydman of Gothenburg. The trio recorded an album after their tour in Germany and Scandinavia this summer, and will return with it to tour the California coast in February 2014. Now coming full circle again to celebrate 40 years of music, friendship and camaraderie! It will be a great evening of songs and harmonies by KUNKEL & HARRIS and JANNI LITTLEPAGE ... Together again after all these years!
