The Blackouts

The Blackouts are back and we love their high energy, we love em - they play 80ís dance tunes, 60ís soul, 90ís alternative... you just donít know what is coming next. Come early, its usually packed.

2500+ gigs later, The Blackouts ask themselves this question - "are we a Santa Cruz institution, or do we need to be institutionalized?" Indeed , an eighteen year past in the life of the busiest rock band in Santa Cruz history has definitely been colorful. From playing full blown concerts with major acts, to a bunch of 4th and 5th graders at an elementary school. Gigs all over the west coast. Broken band vehicles on the side of the road. Playing with 103 degree fevers. Driving 300 miles to a show ,and forgetting the guitars. Food poisoning from club food. 7 gigs in three days. Double bookings. Famous musicians sitting in. Countless sold out clubs. Wild, crazy nights. These are The Blackouts. Doing what they do- getting people excited, getting people partying, getting the booty shaking on the dance floor. The Blackouts are proof positive that when you love what you do, you do it well.
