Lisa Turner plays what might be described as Celtic-tinged acoustic power folk-rock. She is right in the vanguard of the new generation of female songwriters who not only sing, but have taken the time to master their instrument as well (in her case, the guitar). She’s got a clean, pure, agile voice coupled with some smokin’ tight guitar licks making her a very compelling act to watch onstage. Paul Anderson of the LA Times said, "Her crystal-clear voice will make your head turn. And once you hear her folk-based songs, you’re hooked..." In 2003, Lisa Turner created quite a stir in the Hollywood area winning the inaugural "Performing Songwriters Boot Camp" Competition at Highland Grounds in Hollywood. She released her second CD “Red Jasper Sun” in 2005 and went on to be a finalist in the Performing Songwriter competition at the Wild Flower Arts & Music Festival in Richardson Texas. She was selected as a featured artist at the Sedona Jam Emerging Artist Festival in Arizona in 2007 and a prestigious premier showcase at Far-West in 2009 in Irvine California.

Lisa Turner delivers smartly crafted songs in a variety of colors and textures in plainspoken stories and with honesty and depth of emotion. Moving songs of loss and heartbreak. Songs that remind us it’s the simple things that matter most. Songs that tell us to open our hearts and love.

DEANNO PINO:
A graduate of Emerson College, I studied Musical Theatre and moved to New York City to pursue the stage. After years of personal challenges, NYC was not where I wanted to be and I moved to Los Angeles for a change of pace and started to discover and follow my love of songwriting. An advocate for adult children and the missing who have been parentally abducted, it’s hard not to talk about my personal experiences especially as an artist and songwriter. You can find me performing around Los Angeles; Hotel Café, WitZend, Genghis Cohen, El Cid, pursuing the art of communicating and finding joy in spreading the gift of music and storytelling.
